Veteran’s Day/Military Appreciation Day

Veteran’s Day is coming up next Wednesday, November 11th, so I wanted to highlight those businesses offering freebies & discounts to honor military members & families, as well as veterans. I’ve found some nationwide offers, as well as a few local offers as well for those in the Pacific Northwest. Remember to check out this post by Thrifty NW Dad (was a guest post on my blog a few weeks ago) – he highlights these offers as well as why it’s important to remember those who have served (or are currently serving) in the Armed Forces!
- McCormick & Schmicks– FREE lunch or dinner entree (from selected items) for veterans. Make sure to call ahead as space is limited & reservations are required.And dont’ forget your proof of military service Go HERE for more information & to find a location near you.
- Applebees – They will be offering a FREE meal to all veterans & active duty military at all locations. You can choose your entree from selected entrees. Make sure to bring proof of military service. Go HERE for more details!
- Hyvee – Hyvee stores (found in the midwest) will provide a FREE breakfast for veterans from 7am – 11am in participating stores with in-store dining. See details & locations HERE (Thanks Hip2Save)
- Sam’s Club – FREE Hugo canes to military veterans who need mobility assistance. They will be giving out 25,000 canes and you do not need to be a member of Sam’s Club. May need to show military identification. Go HERE for more details
- Outback Steakhouse – Free Bloomin’ Onion & Drink for Veterans on 11/11 – See details here
- Krispy Kreme – Free doughnut of your choice for veterans and active duty military members – see details HERE
- National Parks & Forests & Wildlife Refuges – Free admission to all National Parks, National Forests, Wildlife Refuges, & more on Wed 11/11 to veterans. See HERE for details.
- Point Defiance Zoo – Offering free admission to active duty military & their household family members on Wed 11/11 – make sure to bring your military identification cards. Go HERE for more details.
- Northwest Trek – Offering free admission to active-duty military & their household family members on 11/11. Make sure to bring your military identification cards. Go HERE for more details.
- Golden Corral – Free dinner from 5-9pm for anyone who has served in the military (veterans, retired, currently serving, or National Guard & Reservists). No identification needed. Go HERE for more details.
- Build-A-Bear Workshop – Members of the Armed Force (including Reserve Officer Training Corps) will receive a 20% discount on any 1 transaction at Build-A-Bear stores when you show your military ID. Valid from November 11th – 15th. Go HERE for more details.
- Knott’s Berry Farm – Free admission to all active duty and veterans plus one guest free from Nov 1-24th. Go HERE for details.
