Ultimate Dalgona coffee recipe (whipped coffee) – with a hint of pumpkin and whirl of caramel, it’s perfect for Fall! 

For those of you who are already starting to crave all things pumpkin spice, this Ultimate Dalgona coffee recipe with a hint of pumpkin is a great way to feed that craving year round.

What is a Dalgona Coffee Recipe (Whipped Coffee)?

Dalgona coffee is a version of a whipped coffee recipe that came out of Korea originally (also known as Korean coffee and whipped coffee), mixed with milk. This is the current craze, but it sounds like many cultures may have had a version of this whipped coffee previously too. It generally consists of whipping instant coffee with sugar and boiling water, to make a creamy whipped topping that you add to the top of an iced or hot milk beverage. In this version we add some caramel and pumpkin to iced mild, for those wonderful fall flavors that go so well with just about any kind of coffee year round.

Now that you know what Dalgona Coffee is, here is a recipe we love for this whipped coffee that incorporates more of our favorites: pumpkin spice and caramel. We even show you how to make the caramel from scratch for the best cup of whipped coffee ever!

Ingredients for Dalgona Coffee with Pumpkin & Caramel

Ingredients:

Homemade Caramel Sauce

2 tablespoons of caramel (this is our favorite caramel recipe here), more or less depending on preference

1 tablespoon Instant Coffee

1 tablespoon cold water

1 tablespoon sugar

¼ teaspoon pumpkin-pie spice

Approximately 1 cup of whole milk, depending on glass size

Ice (optional)

Equipment

  • Tall jar for whipping coffee
  • Whisk 
  • Glass to serve in

How To Make This Ultimate Dalgona Coffee Recipe with Caramel & Pumpkin Spice:

How to make dalgona coffee

Prep time : < 10 min

Makes: Enough for one

Pour caramel into bottom of drinking glass, then fill with ice.

Fill glass with milk, leaving approximately a half-an-inch space at the top of the glass. Put to the side.

In a separate jar, mix instant coffee, cold water, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice together.

With whisk, beat the four items until they thicken.  Using a handheld mixer, it took approximately 2 minutes.

Once you get firm peaks, spoon the mixture over the milk.

Sprinkle pumpkin pie spice on top.

Stir and enjoy!
