Tiny Timbers: Adorable Tiny House in Estacada Oregon, Set Amid Beautiful Tree Farms
We just experienced the most amazing stay at the Tiny Timbers house in Estacada, Oregon. If you are looking for a romantic couples getaway, or a girl’s weekend away, you will want to consider this one. You will have your own private tiny home, that has all of the extras (hot tub, products provided, and gorgeous views), on your own private lot, set amid tree farms. This spot was peaceful, relaxing, and beautiful, and the only thing missing was that we should have planned to stay a little longer to take it all in.
The views are just beautiful and surround you. It is so peaceful out here, that I had a hard time leaving. You hear the crickets chirping in the evenings and the birds in the morning, but other than the sounds of nature it was very quiet out here, making it relaxing.
I took my mom away for a weekend girl’s trip, packed full of good food and drink, some antiquing, and exploring gardens. This mini getaway in a tiny house did not disappoint and delivered all of those things for us.
Estacada sits on the Clackamas River and is at the base of Mt. Hood. It is also a short drive to the downtown Portland area (it is about 30 miles southeast of Portland). This means it makes a great destination spot or a perfect base camp to explore many fun day trips in Portland and surrounding areas. There is also something to do here in all four seasons of the year.
On our trip, we enjoyed it as a destination spot, as we were looking for a weekend full of great food, craft beers, and antiquing/yard sales – but we quickly wished we had booked more time here as we could have explored for days.

There are K-cups and water, as well as shower products (like shampoo and conditioner), for example. So you have access to those small things you find in resorts, in this tiny home as well.
Be sure to follow them on their Facebook page and their Instagram page as well, to stay up to date on current happenings at the Tiny Timber location.
The owners of this location live on a tree farm nearby and have a long history of living in this area and caring for the grounds. They have even lived through devastating wildfires, and she shares lots of that history when you book. She also provides you with many great recommendations of what to do, where to eat, and more for the surrounding area – which is very helpful when planning a stay here.
Review of Staying At Tiny Timbers Tiny Home:
We stayed at the end of September, and the weather was gorgeous for our trip. This tiny house offers heat and cooling, so would be perfect all year long. It has a firepit and hot tub to enjoy during your stay, a fully stocked kitchen and all the linens you need, as well as some amenities like coffee, snacks, and shower products to use while onsite.
The anticipation starts on the drive there. When you start to see tree farms all around, you will know you are getting close. When you see this tree-lined street, you will know you are getting really close! Since trees can help to improve air quality, among other things, it was such a plus to be staying in the midst of so many of them. The air felt so fresh, and I felt stress and anxiety starting to melt away, as I often do when I am surrounded by trees. I loved this environment for a wonderful, and relaxing getaway.
Once you drive up to the Tiny Timbers getaway, you will see the sign designating the tiny house property. It is set on a fenced private lot, with its own driveway, yard, and parking. It is beautiful, private, and well-maintained.
Not only is the house adorable, but the views are so beautiful and from all sides. Although we were looking forward to our dinner out, it was hard to leave this view on our first evening at this location. It felt so peaceful, and the air was so fresh. I immediately fell in love with this spot.
The views were one of my favorite parts of this stay. We sat out here in the evening enjoying a glass of wine, and in the mornings with a cup of coffee. The firepit is propane, so you can relax by the fire with just a turn of the knob.
The home is lit up at night, and there is seating on the porch, or you can enjoy a propane-fueled firepit at the edge of the property. Evenings at this spot are very romantic for couples if you are looking for a spot to get away where you can reconnect without a bunch of people all around.
If you want more to do on-site, they have this wonderful hot tub. We used it in the evening and had amazing views of the moon while in the hot tub. It was really magical, and the perfect way to end an evening. We enjoyed the hot tub, and then a glass of wine around the fire until we could not keep our eyes open any longer. At that point, we were able to snuggle into the cozy bed in the Tiny Home and had an amazing night’s sleep. The best part was that we enjoyed all of this to only wake up to having coffee around the fire the next morning, amidst those amazing views again! We had no complaints and enjoyed every minute of this stay.
There are little touches around the property to make it fun year-round (like Sunflowers in the fall, and Christmas Trees in the winter). Plus there is enough to do in the area to not get bored, but it is not one of those locations where you feel like you have to rush out of bed to get everything done in a weekend. You can take this trip at whatever pace you like.

Where to Eat & Drink In & Near Estacada –
Kayla, the owner, will provide you with a guide when you book. She makes some great recommendations, so make use of that information. We did and were so glad we did.
Stone Cliff Inn was our favorite spot!
If you are looking for a nice dinner, Stone Cliff Inn was wonderful, and our favorite restaurant during this trip. It is an easy 15 to 20-minute drive from the Tiny House and sits up cliffside along the river. They offer indoor and outdoor dining, and if it is warm enough out I highly suggest the outdoor seating. You will definitely want to make reservations, as we visited on a Friday night and they had a sign out that they could not accommodate walk-ins that night. We had reserved a table for 6:30 and it was perfect timing as it was light when we arrived and dark when we left so we got to enjoy some of the ambiance of both (of course that time will change depending on the season you travel).
It was so nice to see my mom laugh like this….it was a belly laugh. I knew this trip was a 100% success when I was able to capture this picture. She was so relaxed and LOVED her dinner at this spot. It was one of our favorite meals as everything was fresh and flavorful – we just wished we lived closer so we could visit more often.
Time Travelers Brewing
This was one of our favorite craft breweries in the area (but there are a few), as they offer many local brews as well as breakfast on the weekends, and massive nachos (I have heard that Eagle Creek Saloon has the biggest nachos you will find – but these were sizable too), if you want something that aligns with lunch better. We saw the nachos being delivered to other tables and were amazed – but we ordered this flight to share and a Hummas Board (with ranch on the side for the veggies). It was affordable, fresh, and filling, without being too much.
The Old Mill Saloon
This spot popped up quite a bit in the guest book at Tiny Timbers, and people really seemed to like this one for a more casual atmosphere. We ran out of time before we got to this one, but based on what we read in the guest book, I would add this one to my list for the next time we visit.
Harvest Market Grocery Store
The Tiny Timbers House has a kitchen stocked with utensils, etc., so if you want to stop in town at the Harvest Market, you can grab everything you need for the house. Tiny Timbers offers some amenities (like K-cups and creamers for coffee), but if you want to make your own charcuterie board or make a light meal while you are in town, this is the perfect spot to get supplied up, It has a nice deli area, where you could grab some specialty items and still not have to cook, but enjoy food back with the views.
You will also find more craft beer spots, a wine bar, take-out pizza, ice cream, and more right in town.
What To Do in & Near to Estacada –
Estacada is only around 30 miles from Portland, so you are near the city, but it feels like you have escaped to the beautiful country. It is nestled at the base of the Mt. Hood National Forest, so you will see trees galore, but it is also bordered by the Clackamas River, giving you access to great hiking and beautiful water views (and water activities). Not only is there plenty to do for outdoor enthusiasts. but you will find great antiquing/ junk stores, craft beers brewed locally, delicious food, and access to many great day trips.
Here are some of the spots we explored during our visit.
Downtown Estacada Oregon –
The downtown area is not huge, and it can be slow to open on the weekends, but there are a few craft breweries, a wine storefront, and other shops as well as some restaurant selections. This is also where you will find the weekend markets and the grocery store we mentioned above. You will also find some fun murals in the area if you are looking for some photo-friendly spots.
Wade Creek Vintage Marketplace
The Antique Mall was a favorite stop for us. There were tons of great finds…I ended up unexpectedly packing my car up with found treasures to haul home – and they will help me remember this trip for some time. My mom and I both loved this spot. If you like antiques or upcycled items, you will want to plan a stop here.
The other thing we saw quite a bit in this area, was yard sales. Bring cash for these (or ask if they take Venmo). We ran out of time and cash for the yard sale but wished we had planned for more of both. We found some real treasures at the ones we did stop at, and they were so affordable. I am not sure how many of these will be occurring year-round, but we were visiting in September – and there were quite a few – enough to fill a day’s worth of adventures with and more than we were able to hit during our visit.
Pro Tip – we ran across more than one-yard sales, where they were vendors that regularly sell at local antique spots, getting rid of excess inventory. If you are fortunate enough to hit some of these, the prices are so much better than you will find in the antique malls, and a super opportunity to find some treasures at bottom prices!
Day Trips From Estacada –
Kayla will provide you a guest book with lots of ideas, but some of our personal favorites include:

A trip to Silver Falls & The Trail of 10 Falls
Check out Jen’s trip to the Trail of 10 Falls at Silver Falls State Park to get a better idea of how beautiful it is). If you love waterfalls and hiking, this is a must-visit spot.
In the area, you will also find the Oregon Gardens. We love to stroll through here, especially in summer and fall, for a great garden visit. The town of Silverton is fun to visit for some shopping and dining too. Fin& Fowl or the Silver Falls Brewery & Ale House are great options to check out while in town.
Portland
This would be a great option to use as a base camp, if you would like to spend a day in Portland, but do not want to make that the sole reason for a trip to this area. You could stay at the Tiny Timbers, and then travel into Portland for a day of exploring the Japanese Gardens, explore the food cart pods, hit Powels book store, or whatever your favorite things to do in Portland are. We enjoyed a stop-in at Olympia Provisions on our trip. It offers a menu full of Charcuterie options, which was lots of fun since we had no kids in tow this trip.
Seasonal Fun Near The Tiny Timbers In Estacada:
Fall
We visited at the end of September, and the weather was still beautiful, but you could feel the crispness in the area, indicating the seasons are changing. It is a beautiful time of the year to get in some hiking, or exploring the Vintage Market mall. Craft beers always taste the best in fall in my opinion, so it is a great time to enjoy some of the local dining and drinking scene here too.
Winter
This is a great time of the year to turn a trip out to get a Christmas tree into an overnight getaway. Estacada has long been known as a “Christmas tree capital”… they have so many great farms with U (or they) – cut options.
The owners of the Tiny Timbers house also own a tree farm, and the Tiny Timbers sits right next to that. Their trees are not quite mature enough for cutting yet, but it makes for a magical scenery to stay in the midst of this time of the year. This spot also sits not too far from the ski slopes (under an hour to Government camp), less than an hour from all things Portland including zoo lights, as well as less than an hour from the Silverton Christmas market for a beautiful winter getaway.
Spring
This is a good shoulder season to travel when the crowds will be low. You can plan a visit around a festival, like the Upper Clackamas Whitewater Festival that happens during the spring each year.
Summer
There are many swimming holes in the river, nearby, to enjoy during the summer months. You can also enjoy plenty of water activities like rafting, SUPs, and more. Hiking and day trips are beautiful this time of the year as well! And day trips can be extra fun, including up to the Ski Bowl area on Mt. Hood!
