S’mores Overnight Oats Recipe
We are often rushing around in the mornings before school or church, so I love having a hearty but healthier option for breakfast all ready to go. Any time we can do a delicious make-ahead meal for breakfast it’s a winner in my book!
This 5 ingredient s’mores overnight oats recipe is perfect for an easy & quick breakfast on the go when you make it the night before. And if your kids are a little wary of oatmeal thinking it will be a boring breakfast option, the mini marshmallows & chocolate treat mimicking a night around the campfire is sure to make them excited for this breakfast treat!
Try this Smores overnight oats recipe as a fun spin on a traditional oatmeal breakfast that kids will love! Gives them a taste of summer any time of year!
S’mores Overnight Oats:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup whole rolled oats (or quick oats)
1/2 cup milk (you can use regular milk, almond milk, coconut milk, oat milk or soy milk – whatever your preference is)
Mini Marshmallows
1/2 tbsp Honey to sweeten (per jar)
Mini Chocolate bar
Directions:
- Fill a mason jar with the 1/2 cup of oats. Pour in milk just to reach the top of the oats and mix. Sweeten with honey (I suggest about ½ tablespoon)
- Cover & set jar in fridge overnight (if you don’t want to use a mason jar, just use any airtight container)
- When you are ready to eat, top with mini marshmallows and a chocolate bar and enjoy
Such a simple recipe, but the addition of the marshmallows & chocolate just makes it more special & fun for the kids!
