My girls’ school had a bake sale this morning and I volunteered to bring some goodies. However, this week turned out being a bit of a crazy week with various commitments and I needed to find something fast & easy to bring for the bake sale. I made some cake mix cookies with frosting and sprinkles (so easy – make sure to check out our different variations you can make). But I also wanted to make something that would be a big hit with the kids as they love anything on a stick these days. So, I decided to make our favorite Rice Krispie Pops in spring colors.
We have been making Rice Krispie pops for quite a few birthday parties over the years and I love that it’s a fun way to bring the theme colors of your party into your food options & kids always head straight for these as Rice Krispie treats are always a hit. Add some frosting, sprinkles & a stick and you’ve got a winner with the kiddos.
I thought these would be fun to make to put into Easter baskets for a fun little treat or bring it to an Easter get-together for a kid-friendly after-dinner treat!
Ingredients:
- 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 1 pkg of regular Marshmallows (10 oz, about 40) or 4 cups of mini marshmallows
- Candy Melts (you can also substitute candy bark, melted chocolate chips – basically any candy or chocolate coating you can melt)
- Sprinkles
- Lollipop sticks or paper straws
Directions::
Make Rice Krispies treats according to the directions. Melt butter over low heat in a large saucepan. Add in the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. Add in Rice Krispies cereal slowly. Stir until well coated with marshmallow mixture. Spread into a 13x9x2 inch pan coated with cooking spray or place on a cookie sheet with wax paper. Cool. Cut into rectangles.
To add them to an Easter basket or as a special treat in your kids lunches or for parties, just add a little bag & ribbon to tie it up cute. You could pass these out as party favors at a class party or kids birthday party or have them on display without the bag.

Ingredients
- 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 1 pkg of regular Marshmallows (10 oz, about 40) or 4 cups of mini marshmallows
- Candy Melts (you can also substitute candy bark, melted chocolate chips – basically any candy or chocolate coating you can melt)
- Sprinkles
- Lollipop sticks or paper straws
Instructions
- Make Rice Krispies treats according to the directions.
- Melt butter over low heat in a large saucepan.
- Add in the marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
- Remove from heat.
- Add in Rice Krispies cereal slowly.
- Stir until well coated with marshmallow mixture.
- Spread into a 13x9x2 inch pan coated with cooking spray or place on a cookie sheet with wax paper.
- Cool. Cut into rectangles.
- Pour the desired amount of candy melts (or other melting chocolate) into a bowl. Put it into the microwave & cook at 50% power for 1 minute at a time until the chocolate is melted & easy to stir.
- Once your candy coating/chocolate is ready to stir, you can start dipping or applying to the rice krispies treats.
- You can either dip the rice krispies treat right into the bowl to coat it with the candy coating. Or I find it easier to just use a knife or spreader to put it on more evenly.
- Add your sprinkles once you have coated the top part of the Rice Krispies treat.
- Stick a lollipop stick or straw into it to turn it into a pop! So simple & easy!
