Pierce County DIYfest – Saturday October 29th, 2016
Pierce County Library is back again this year with their popular DIYfest on Saturday October 29, 2016, from 11am – 4pm. This is a fun & informative event for anyone interested in any DIY projects around the home, with topics such as home renovations, cooking, sustainable living, hand crafts & more. You’ll find demonstrations of “bead-weaving” jewelry making, and a make your own t-shirt bag, to name a few. What a fun way to spend the day, getting inspired to start some new projects in your home & save some money with DIY projects you may not have thought possible.
There will be plenty of hands-on activities all day long for you to not only hear & view these project ideas at the DIYfest, but actually experience first-hand how to complete the projects by trying it yourself so you can put it into action at home. You can also listen to presentations by both experts & DIY enthusiasts about a wide variety of topics. Some of the exhibitors may have some of their ideas/projects for sale, too, but the primary focus is on showing & learning DIY projects & techniques.
Did you know that last year there were over 1,000 people who came to the Pierce County DIYfest? This year, they have moved to a new venue to expand this awesome event even more. They will be meeting at Pierce College in Puyallup, which offers 4 additional rooms for presentations all day, plus Pierce College will also have exhibitors from the college’s continuing education program & academic departments as part of the event. The Business Club will be teaching some important skills, such as how to deliver the proper business handshake & the Pierce College Asia Pacific Islander Club will be providing hula lessons (how fun is that?!)
DIYfest will be having a food drive as part of the event to support the Emergency Food Network, so this is a great chance to bring along some non-perishable items with you to support a great, local cause, too.
