4th of July Jello Cups – “Firecrackers”
It’s always fun for any holiday gatherings to bring themed food and with 4th of July right around the corner, these Patriotic Red, White & Blue Jell-O cups are a whimsical & fun treat to bring to your get-together or picnic. Β They are sure to be a hit with the kids – and adults! I love that they are super easy to make and you can get the kids involved in making them too. Β You’ll just want to make sure you start preparing these early enough to give each layer time to set before you start the next layer. My girls love the red cherry on top – I don’t know what it is about cherries on top of things, but kids always want those cherries, so they will be excited about these firecrackers!

Jello for 4th of July:
Ingredients:
- 1 1/3 cups boiled water
- 2 β 3 oz. packages of Jell-O gelatin (Cherry and Berry Blue)
- 1 package of Knox Brand non flavored gelatin
- 1-cup milk
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 20 maraschino cherries with stems, (drain well and pat dry)
Directions:
First, look for the cup or container you’ll be putting these Jell-o Cups in – if you have a tall shot glass, those work well, but any cup will do. If you’re bringing to a gathering outside of your home, grab the clear plastic cups so you won’t have to wash & bring home any dishes.

In another bowl add ΒΌ cup of milk and sprinkle in 1 envelope of unflavored gelatin; let stand 5 min. Bring remaining milk to simmer in saucepan.
Remove from heat; stir in sugar and vanilla. Add to plain gelatin mixture; stir until gelatin is completely dissolved. Cool 10 min.
Spoon berry gelatin into 20 (1-oz.) plastic shot, add about 2 tsp. to each. Refrigerate 15 min. or until set but not firm.
For the next layer top with unflavored gelatin mixture, adding about 2 tsp. to each cup. Refrigerate 10 min.
Insert cherry, stem end up, into white gelatin layer in each cup and refrigerate 2 more minutes.
Finish the top layer with cherry gelatin, add about 2 tsp. to each cup. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm.

I just checked the ski bowl adventure park web site. You had mentioned that one could add on the more “thrilling” rides for $4.00 each. They now range from $9.00 – $65.00!!!! It might be a good idea to update your posting.
Thanks for letting us know, Joan. I think you’re referring a review that we had written quite a few yrs ago for Ski Bowl with the prices & our experiences at the time. Unfortunately those prices & rides, etc can change every year, that was just our experience the year we went, but we definitely recommend calling ahead & looking at their website for updated info.
