1 container of Tai Pei Fried Rice (any variety)
2 eggs
1 cup panko bread crumbs
3 1/2 tbsp flour
1/4 cup fresh, chopped green onions
Oil for frying
Instructions
- Cook the Fried Rice as directed on the package in the microwave.
- Empty the contents into a bowl
- Add 1 egg, 3 tbsp flour & green onion and mix all of the ingredients together
- Wet your hands & roll the rice mixture into 2″ balls.
- Allow to chill in the fridge for 20 minutes
- Remove from fridge.
- Heat vegetable oil in skillet on the stove.
- While oil is heating up, dip rice ball into 1/2 cup of flour in a small bowl.
- In a 2nd bowl, dip the rice ball into an egg (beat the egg first) .
- In a third bowl, roll the rice mixture into the panko bread crumbs.
- Using a slotted spoon, place the rice balls into the heated oil on the skillet.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
- Flip the ball to the other side, so that the entire rice ball is cooked & heat for another 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from oil with a slotted spoon & place on paper towel to absorb the excess oil.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce (we like to use a sweet Thai chili sauce or sweet & sour sauce).
