National Public Gardens Day – FREE Admission!

National Public Gardens Day  is May 12th, 2017, this year and public gardens across the country will be offering free admission. It’s running a little different this year, then previous years. You can head here to search on your area and find participating gardens. Some of them will require you to download a coupon for free entrance, so just read all the details on the garden you are interested in. Looks like there are more gardens participating this year, then we have seen in the past (Chulily is on the list this year!!!) so it is a fun free event!

There are a number of participants this year. However, we did not find any participating gardens in Oregon unfortunately.

Here are the WA Gardens participating::

  1. Unless I am reading it wrong, I think you might have read the site wrong. I believe that link is to search for public gardens, not ones that are participating in the event. When looking at the map, it shows the ones marked special that *are* participating. To be sure, I even went to a couple of the sites from the listings that were not marked, and their respective pages showed no information about a free day either.
If I read correctly, I believe only 7 gardens are participating in this local(ish) area. The only thing I did note of interest besides this was Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium has listed only a half price for Moms on Mother’s Day.
If I am correct, you might want to update your readers so they don’t wind up showing up somewhere that charges. =)
Hope this helps, and thanks for the heads up as always. =)

    1. P.S….Upon searching a couple of them, like the one in Tacoma and Shoreline, they are always free. =) So the event thing they show confuses me. But, it did some good, now we know so we can plan on some visits in the near future. =) So thanks again for the heads up.
