Fred Meyer is back starting Sunday July 24,2016 – August 6, 2016, with their very popular promotion – 4X Fuel Points on Gift Cards! This promo is going on not just one, but 2 FULL weeks, so you have plenty of time to take advantage of this promotion! These type of promotions only come around a few times a year, but such a great way to save on fuel and gift cards, which you can rarely find good discounts for each one.

This sale will also be happening at QFC stores, starting Wednesday July 27th, 2016 – August 9, 2016 (& any Kroger Co Family of Stores) across the country for almost all gift cards (just a few exceptions). Other stores may offer promos on select gift cards, but Fred Meyer & QFC offer this promotion on the majority of gift cards they sell. {Exclusions: it does not apply to purchases of Kroger Co. Family of Stores gift cards, airtime cards, handsets or gift cards where you choose your amount and can reload}

And remember, you can buy the gift cards not only as gifts (think ahead to any gifts you need to buy in the next few months), but also buy the gift cards for yourself & use them like cash at stores or restaurants you shop at regularly. If you’ll already be heading out to your favorite restaurants or stores, heading to the movies, or know you’ll be going to Disney, buy those gift cards ahead of time & earn all the fuel rewards points as a way to save on gas & gift cards, either way you look at it, & then use them when you need to.

How it Works::

Fred Meyer Gift Cards

The way it works is that you will earn 4x the fuel points for any gift cards you buy.  So, that means that you’ll earn 100 fuel points for every $25 you spend on gift cards! And 100 fuel points = $.10 off/per gallon of gas. If you buy 1 $25 gift card, you’ll get $.10 off/per gallon the next time you use the Fred Meyer fuel station. If you buy $100 in gift cards during this promotion, you’ll earn 400 points, which is equal to $.40 off/per gallon gas.

Easy Way to Remember::

Spend $25 on gift cards, get 100 fuel points = $.10 off / per gallon gas

Spend $100 on gift cards, get 400 fuel points = $.40 off / per gallon gas

Note: Fuel discounts are limited to up to 35 gallons of fuel per purchase.

Here are a few ideas of gift cards to purchase::

  • Bass Pro Shops – this could be great for a gift for that hard to buy for guy in your life. Or if you have camping, boating, fishing or other supplies you need to get for the summertime, buy a gift card to use to buy those items, so you can earn the Fuel Rewards

Google Play gift card

  • Google Play – Love this idea for a gift  as you can choose anything from music, books, games or movies. If you’ll already be using those apps, take advantage of this extra savings.
  • JC Penney – JCPenney has some great coupons & sales frequently, so you could really maximize your savings if you purchase a gift card with the 4X Fuel Rewards promo, by not only saving at JCPenney’s with their frequent promotions but also saving on fuel with your gift card purchase. Perfect for back to school shopping!

Lowes Gift Card

  • Lowe’s – If you’ve got home improvement or gardening projects to work on this summer, you know you’ll most likely be headed to Lowe’s for supplies, so why not earn those fuel rewards by buying a gift card to use on your purchases
  • Panera Bread – These are fun gift cards to give to someone as a thank you gift. But if you regularly eat at Panera Bread, this is another gift card that would make sense buying the gift card to earn those Fuel Rewards if you know you will be eating there. Buy your gift card, earn those fuel rewards & then use your gift card to pay when you head to the restaurant.

Darden Gift Card

  • Darden Restaurants – I love that this gift card can be used at so many places, which makes it a great gift idea or buy it for yourself so you have flexibility when you head out to eat. Use it at Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Bahama Breeze, Longhorn Steakhouse or Seasons 52 Fresh Grill.
  • Disney Gift Cards – If you know you’ll be going to Disneyland or Disney World, this could be a great way to save by buying Disney Gift Cards. You could use them towards tickets, lodging if you’re staying on Disney property, purchases at the park (dining, souvenirs, etc). It’s so nice to use the gift cards like cash while you’re at Disney, as we did this at Disney World last year and found it kept us on budget easier.

  4. My girls and I LOVE to get fresh fruit every weekend at Fred Meyer down the street. This time of the year is the best, especially when they are cooking up fresh ribs and yummy BBQ on the grill right out side the front door.

  9. We love Freddie playland at Fred Meyer!! My son loves playing there while I do my weekly grocery shopping. the playland provides some much needed “me time” to shop or try on some clothes. Hope we can get fuel point by utilizing the playland!
