Disneyland Magic Key Passes – Replacing Disney Annual Passes

Disney has recently announced what the new Disney annual pass program will look like, and we have some of those details for you here. It is called the Magic Key Program, and there are 4 different Magic Key passes included, which we share below.

The most important thing though, is that these passes will not be available until much later this month – and the site often crashes when this happens – so we have the scoop on how you can get a head start AND save on their new Magic Key Program Memberships with Get Away Today!

How? All tickets purchased through Get Away Today (except for the California Resident Ticket offer) can be upgraded to any of the Magic Key Passes while guests are at the Parks beginning August 25, 2021! That means you can book your tickets now, and not worry about blackout dates – plus make reservations for the theme park dates you want to visit NOW – and then turn it into a Magic Key Pass on the last day of your visit in the parks.

To summarize, the main benefits of doing this are –

• you will not have to deal with trying to get the passes when they go live, and the Disney site is bombarded with traffic
• you can book the dates of your vacation now, rather then waiting until after August 25 (the last day of your trip will just need to land on August 25th or later)
• that also means you can make your theme park day reservations now (you can reserve park tickets 120 days out, vs only 90 with the passes)
• not worry about Blackout dates for that first visit with the tickets.

Here is how this works:

Start by going to Get Away Today to purchase your tickets with the idea of upgrading, and you’ll:

• Save on Disneyland Resort Tickets, but apply the full ticket value towards any Magic Key Pass
• Make theme park reservations with multi-day Disneyland tickets for the following benefits:
  • Make initial theme park reservations up to 120 days in advance (that’s an extra 30 days than purchasing a Magic Key outright)
  • NO blackout dates on your multi-day tickets

You will then be able to easily upgrade their Disneyland Resort tickets purchased through Get Away Today through the Disneyland app or at a ticket booth on the last day of your ticket, as long as the last day of your ticket is on or after August 25, 2021. This way they can avoid blackout dates for their initial visit.

Once you upgrade you tickets to a Magic Key, you’ll be able to access your Magic Key Member discounts and can start making future theme park reservations as well. And of course, we hope that when you use those future theme park reservations, you’ll book an Anaheim hotel stay with Get Away Today!

If you purchased the California Resident Ticket offer with Get Away Today, they can upgrade those to their regularly discounted tickets as long as you have not used any of the days of your tickets. Here are the details on the Disneyland Magic Passes that will be available starting August 25th.

1 – Dream Key Pass – $1399 – no blackout dates – 6 reservations at a time

2 – Believe Key Pass – $949 – some blackout dates – 6 reservations at a time

3- Enchant Key – $649 – more blackout dates – 4 reservations at a time

4- Imagine Key – $399 – most blackout dates – 2 reservations at a time (only for Southern California Residents)
