Easy Minion Cupcakes – Perfect for Despicable Me Fans!
Looking for a super easy treat for an upcoming birthday party, or school party? These Despicable Me cupcakes are not only easy, but you could even use pre-made items if you are in a real rush! Minion Cupcakes are so cute and will make any Minions themed party extra special.
Put these Minion Twinkies on cupcakes for instant pizzaz!
The two main components of these cupcakes are: the cupcake and half a Twinkie decorated to look like a Despicable Me Minion! It’s that simple. You can make these with any flavor of cupcake you like (or use pre-made store cupcakes if you’re in a hurry).
Ingredients & Supplies Needed:
- 12 Cupcakes (if you want to make your cupcakes from scratch, try this hot fudge cupcake recipe)
- 6 Twinkies (or equivalent kind of dessert cakes) – you could make your own homemade Twinkies with this Hostess Twinkie maker
- Black icing (you will want the skinny tubes, to use to draw on the face)
- Wilton Candy Eyes
- Icing for the cupcakes (we colored ours with Wilton’s Gel Food Coloring in Royal Blue color)
We also show you how to make your own DIY Cupcake Stands here, if you want an affordable way to display your cupcakes. You can also find options for under $10 here you can purchase, or on Amazon here too.
How To Make these Despicable Me Minion Cupcakes:
Once you have your cupcakes ready, frost them with the royal blue icing.
Cut your twinkies in half, and place one half of a twinkie on top of each of the frosted cupcakes, using the icing to secure it.
With your skinny tube of black icing, draw the minion faces on. You can google minions for more ideas, but the easiest one to do is the line around the top of the head, with one eye in the center and a mouth. Use the icing to secure the candy eye on.
Here is an example of that style Minion.
Here is an example of a two eyed Minion as well.
You can add hair on some using the icing, and leave the others bald
